Alvis TA14

Despite the fact that the TA14 was merely a mildly modified version of the 1938 12/70, it was Alvis's post-war best-seller - explained by the traditional styling. It also means cart springs and mechanically operated brakes, though you get a slightly wider track and longer wheelbase. The engine was bored out by an extra 50cc, but extra weight means this high-quality car can manage only 75mph. There were quite a few special bodies about, and it's these
- particularly the Tickford and Carbodies dropheads
- that are most sought alter.
