For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a 1963 Ford Galaxie XL. This Ford has plenty of charisma. The interior is comprised of black leather bucket seats and chrome accents. The chrome accents show that the car was marketed as a luxury/performance car in the 60s. Outside you will see that the car is painted a blue color with a hue of purple. The roof is painted white to break up the blue paint. The chrome features are also found throughout the exterior. Under the hood is a 352 CID V8 engine backed by a 3-spd automatic transmission (cruise-o-matic). Following is a Ford 9" rear-end. The odometer reads 4,399. For 1963, Ford saw no reason to radically change a good thing, and the 1963 model was essentially unchanged save for some freshening and added trim; windshields were reshaped and a four-door hardtop 500/XL was added. A lower, fastback roofline was added mid-year to improve looks and make the big cars more competitive on the NASCAR tracks with the added downforce. The 352 FE engine delivers 300 HP and sounds great through the dual exhaust.
