1947 Ford Business Coupe - Stock #6067 - Gateway Classic Cars St. Louis

Stock #6067

For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a street rod that is built for the road. This 1940 Ford Business Coupe with a trailer loaded with all the goodies. The all original unmodified steel body 1940 Ford is painted in a beautiful shade of PPG Guards Red that compliments the tan leather interior. Riding on polished American Racing Torque Thrust wheels that give it a great stance, especially with the wider rear wheels. Stepping inside this well built street rod, you first notice the attention to detail. Beautiful leather 6 way power seats from an '85 Thunderbird, a leather wrapped LeCarra steering wheel attached to a tilt steering column. Look a little to the right and you'll notice the easy to use Lokar shifter controlling the Turbo 350 automatic transmission with a turbo shift kit. Some other features inside this '40 Ford include, billet cup holders, VDO gauges, chrome brake and gas pedal assemblies, a chrome fire extinguisher, hidden fuel and power cut off switches, hidden rear compartments only found in the business coupe, a one piece windshield, power windows and a Sony sound system with a CD player.
Powering this '40 Ford is no joke either. Everyone knows that 383 strokers are not to be messed with and this one is no exception to the rule producing 406 horsepower. The engine has been balanced, ported and polished and include roller rockers. Feeding the fuel to this powerhouse is a 600 cfm Edelbrock Endurashine carb sitting on top of a Weiand intake manifold. The exhaust is exiting through a pair of Ram Horn manifolds and out through HPC coated exhaust pipes and a pair of stainless steel Borla mufflers and tailpipes. Cooling this high performance engine is no trouble with a Babbs 4" radiator and a transmission cooler to help out as well. Power is sent through a Turbo 350 with a B&M 2200 Hole shot converter. Housing the 3.00:1 gear set is a Ford 9" rear end from a '57 Ford. While gazing at the engine bay, it's hard not to notice the detail of the engine block and exhaust manifolds ground smooth for a good look, the valve covers and intake manifold have been powder coated as well as the other engine accessories. The list goes on and on. The underside wasn't forgotten either. Take a peek underneath and you'll notice everything is either chromed, powder coated or in stainless. Even the panels underneath are louvered! As you would expect, the suspension is trick as well. A Fat Man Mustang II front end with polyurethane bushings and adjustable coil overs and coil overs out back too, chrome of course. Slowing things down are 11" front disc brakes with stainless steel lines ran through the frame for a clean look.
When you see this cool street rod and you look just behind it, you'll notice the Teardrop trailer. It is a 4x8 cabin with 2 rear stabilizing jacks, matching polished Torque Thrust wheels, lockable doors and 11 gallon fresh water tank with an electric pump. Some other amenities include a small refrigerator, 15" drop down flat screen TV, DVD player, AM/FM/CD player, Birch trimmed interior, gas stove, microwave, 1200 watt converter and one deep cycle battery.
