Shelby struck a deal with the Hertz Corporation to produce a special line of G.T. 350s for rent that, after their rental-car lives were finished, were returned to Ford, refurbished, and sold to the public. Most Hertz cars featured gold LeMans stripes and rocker panel stripes. Hertz advertised them as "Rent-a-Racer" cars.
This car started its life as one of the 1,003 GT350H produced for Hertz rental project. This particular GT350H started its life with an automatic transmission then was converted to a 4-speed and equipped with a Paxton Supercharger in the early 1970's (according to The Shelby World Registry). The car was enjoyed for years in this configuration. This car was purchased by a respected collector and enthusiast in 2004 and set off to restore the car to its 1970 setup but retaining the Paxton Supercharger and 4spd. Craig Conley of Paradise Motorsports was commissioned bring the heart of the GT350H to a state that would make Carol himself smile. The final product is one of the most capable and beautiful 350H's available that can be street driven on pump gas or perform with the best historic track events.
