Vehicle Description
If you buy this sophisticated green 1947 Chevrolet Stylemaster coupe, we can almost guarantee you'll have more fun with it than the guy who just spent six figures on a custom build. With a bunch of cool retro touches, it's a bargain-priced cruiser that eschews all the clich s and delivers traditional hot-rod fun that would be a deal at twice the price.Fat-fendered rods have always been about comfort as much as speed, and this car's generous proportions make it an ideal long-distance hauler. The '47 Chevy was a nicely proportioned car that was popular with guys looking for some speed, and the monochromatic green metallic job is an elegant look that'll never get old. The body itself is quite straight, and just finding one of these that looks this good can be a challenge, particularly with that fender line that extends into the front doors, a feature which was introduced in 1942. The paint was done a few years ago and shows a few signs of use and some minor blemishes, but at this price, it will have everyone thinking you got a major bargain. It has been shaved and cleaned up in the traditional style, and things like the grille, headlight, rings, and bumpers are still bright chrome, retaining all the flash for which these cars were famous. The only notable modifications are a Vee'd windshield, shaved deck lid, and LED taillights, but none of that diminishes the Chevy's handsome good looks.
On a car like this, there is no better choice than a tan leather interior with all the modern amenities. The original bench seats were both been dumped in favor of a pair of handsome buckets and a rear bench from a late-model Ford Thunderbird, and the fit is rather remarkable. The door panels are upholstered in matching vinyl and tweed and there's a custom center console between the seats. The dash has been completely reworked to house a set of big, bold gauges that look like OEM pieces, as well as a secondary panel for the controls for the HVAC and AM/FM/CD stereo. A tilt column carries a sporty4-spoke steering wheel power windows are part of the package as well. The trunk is simple and plain, but cavernous, so grab all your gear and head out for a road trip, because this car has plenty of space.
For some extra cool points, there's a GM Goodwrench crate 350 under the pointed hood, a very user-friendly choice for guys who like to drive. Dressed in chrome and finned aluminum, the silky smooth V8 looks functional and well-sorted, with good service access and traditional horsepower-builders like long-tube headers and an HEI ignition system. A Holley Street Avenger 4-barrel carburetor and an Edelbrock intake give it snappy throttle response and a giant aluminum radiator keeps it cool even in traffic with the A/C blasting away. Underneath, the chassis is solid and clean, with a Mustang II front clip that includes power rack-and-pinion steering and disc brakes, while the rear end is a rugged 10-bolt with an automatic transmission in-between swapping the gears. Handsome 15-inch Torque Thrust wheels and carry staggered blackwall radials that really accentuate the raked stance.
This little Chevy is an awesome cruiser that will generate a ton of attention and more smiles per mile than just about anything else in our showroom. Call today!
