Vehicle Description
This is an authentic XK120 Fixed-Head Coupe with no updates and its original leather gaiters still laced onto the rear springs. Its JDHC Production Certificate confirms: Date of Manufacture: 31Mar52, Chassis: #679576, Body: #J1579, Engine: #W4573-8, delivered by Hornburg in Los Angeles to W.A. Baker on 5Jul52. The owner traded it in on a new Rolls Royce in the mid-80's and my dad bought it from the LA dealer over the phone. My meticulous dad had new leather upholstery, headliner & carpeting professionally installed using the correct materials from British suppliers, then he painted it Primrose to match his E-Type. I drove it on several car tours in Idaho and loved shifting its 4 speed Moss gear box with throaty rumbling from that famous 3.4 litre six. When introduced, the XK120 was the fastest production car you could purchase - but there are no seat belts!I acquired this classic Jaguar from my dad seven years ago and per his recommendation: replaced the suspension rubbers, installed new tires (OEM-style bias ply) & aligned, rebuilt all brake cylinders and new fitted brake friction bands (original Lockheed drum brakes), dropped pan for inspection (surprisingly clean), and tuned up. No updates except an Optima battery (per Jay Leno, see attached video). Tool roll, jack & air pump included. Handbook has its original delivery & service notes. I have an enclosed car trailer if you need delivery, but this car is a driver!
