This Chevrolet reminds us of why these Phaetons were—and are—so popular. After 87 years this convertible starts right up and moves down the road with grace. Put the top down and some grandkids in the back seat and it’s the most fun you—or they—have had in ages!

Nice from Top to Bottom

Paint and Body

The re-spray of this Chevy in Yellow and Black makes it look fresh and bright. The paint is in very good condition with only a few areas of crazing.

The chrome trim is all in nice condition, setting off the character of this phaeton that so many collectors value.

The top and rear window is in good condition, but the frame will require some attention to ease its operation. The car does not have side curtains.

Interior

The black interior is clean and fresh-looking, and as one would expect, the upholstery is free of rips, holes or separations. The door panels are in very good condition and the dash is extremely nice. All in all, the inside approximates what the car looked like when it was built in 1929!

Engine

The Chevrolet in-line 6 cylinder engine displaces 194 cubic inches (3.2 liters), and it starts right up and runs properly. At the touch of the starter the engine comes to life and is ready for use.

Transmission

The manual, transmission has the floor-mounted shifter with 3 forward speeds plus reverse that works well.

Brakes

The brakes on the Phaeton bring it to a halt without pulling from side to side.
