Vehicle Description
1955 Chevrolet BelAirChevrolet finally made the jump to the true Shoe Box look when they designed the 1955 Chevrolet and it was met with huge success. They stamped their place in car history with the BelAir and in 1955 started a 3 year span which would be forever known as the "tri-fives." This classic BelAir two door post is a nicely rebuilt classic that runs great and is being offered up at a very reasonable price. The body is in good condition and nicely coated in a Black Cherry Metallic with White. The color combo suits the car nicely and gives it a sleek up to date look. All of the chrome is in great shape as is all of the original style stainless trim. The glass has a nice dark tint which works the paint well and all of it is in good condition and damage free. It has all new weather stripping and window fuzzies so the doors all seal up well. For an added custom touch Cragar SS wheels were added and give the car a much tougher appearance than the stock wheels/hubcaps.
Under the hood is a new crate 350 V8 motor that runs strong. It has been fitted with an Edelbrock carburetor, Edelbrock air cleaner, chrome valve covers and headers. An aluminum radiator has also been added to eliminate any cooling issues. The car really is a comfortable driver and the power brakes (disc front) and power steering make it just as easy to drive as your daily car. Backing the motor is a Turbo 350 Automatic transmission that shifts nice and smooth. To handle the more modern drivetrain a 1981 Camaro Iroc subframe was added to the car which also brings with it some suspension upgrades.
The interior has been customized with Gray cloth upholstery and a custom built center console. It has the original style split bench seat up front and bench in rear. The center console incorporates aftermarket Sunpro gauges (Oil, Temp, Amp), a B&M shifter and cupholder. The dash has been painted in Silver to match the rest of the interior and incorporates the original style gauges but a tachometer has been mounted to the column. An aftermarket AC unit has been added and the knobs were custom added to the dash over the original bowtie trim piece. An aftermarket AM/FM/CD player has also been added to the car with speakers in the door panels and rear package tray. The trunk of the car is nicely finished out as well with matching Gray upholster and a spare cover.
