Well, when your looking for a classic car, you most likely ask yourself, “What is it I really want?”
A classic car that will maintain it's value, if not increase in value over time? Something that most everyone will recognize, appreciate, and admire? How about something that's as near perfect as I can get that has a good pedigree, no rust, perhaps runs a drives excellently?
What ever is on your must have list, this 1956 Hardtop will surely tick most of those boxes.
Let me set aside the condition of this Chevy for a moment to give you a small glimpse into it's background.
Mr. Henry Schafer purchased this Chevy on May 18, 1956 from Hille Chevrolet in Ritzville, Washington. He drove the car until 1968 when he offered it to his grandson. His Grandson loved the car, but didn't use it much if not at all. He moved to Lagrande Oregon in 1980 and brought the Chevy with him. The car continued to relax inside in the eastern Oregon dry weather until 2005 when a complete frame off, rotisserie restoration was completed. After all of these years, the car traveled just 55,193 miles.
So, here we now have an Iconic Chevrolet, single family owned, 55,193 original mile car, complete professional restoration with about 2000 miles on it. Beautiful paint in it's original color scheme, very comfortable charcoal leather interior (that's the original color for the interior too), strong, good running engine and drive-train, perfect stance, excellent choice for wheels and tires, and absolutely one of the nicest driving Tri-5 Chevy's anywhere!
Quality throughout, excellent driving, original low mile, one family owned. Just a good investment all around.
