Vehicle Description
1953 Chevrolet BelAirThe 50's was a great decade for Chevrolet. The BelAir was born and the transition to the shoebox body style to keep up with Ford lead to them creating some of the most successful and popular models around. The 1953 Chevrolet had some great bodylines and the BelAir you see pictured here is absolutely beautiful. From front to rear this car is extremely nice and is being offered up at a great price. When you are talking about a car that has undergone a body off restoration you can typically expect to pay over 50K no matter what type of car it is. Well not only is this car a popular BelAir but it has had a full body off restoration and is being sold for under 30K! You could buy the car today, drive/enjoy it for a few years and then turn around to sell it at which time you will definitely make your money back and probably more! The body is straight and during the restoration entirely media blasted. It has all new floors and is entirely rust free. It was then coated in a very pretty Metallic Blue with a darker Blue on the rear fenders for that two tone look. When it is out in the sun that Metallic paint really comes to life. The bumpers and trim have a nice shine and are mostly the original style except for the front grill. The front grill has been very tastefully customized for a clean look that looks as though it should be that way from the factory. All of the glass has been replaced and is tinted throughout. The car has a great rake and really looks tough. Park it next to a stock 53 Chevy and people are going to instantly gravitate towards this car. The American Racing silver wheels suit the car very well and are wrapped in Kumho tires (205/50R17-front, 285/40R17-rear.)
Powering the car is a late model 350 V8 that runs well. It is mostly stock except for the aluminum intake, Holley 600cfm carburetor, and ceramic coated headers. An aluminum radiator has been added which along with a shroud and mechanical fan eliminate any heating issues. Paired with the motor is a 700R4 automatic transmission that sends power back to the Ford 9 inch rear end with 3:23 gears. The car has disc brakes under all four corners which are all power assisted. The suspension consists of a Heidts Mustang II front end with 4 bar suspension in rear. It runs down the road well and drives comfortably.
The interior of the car is very nicely done in a Gray leather that is in great shape. The aftermarket high back bucket seats are very comfortable and sit to each side of the custom built center console. This console houses cupholders and matches the housing for the B&M floor mounted shifter. White faced VDO gauges grace the dash and other upgrades include the tilt Ididit steering column and JVC custom stereo. The interior compartment seals up well with no wind noise due to the all new weatherstripping throughout.
This nice BelAir has just enough restomod touches to make it very comfortable to drive without going over the top and losing the classic look. It has a lot going for it including a price you just can't beat!
