An Awesome ’48 Chevy Pickup

This 1948 Chevrolet 5-window Pickup sports a wonderful paint scheme, a modern drive train, and a new interior—all looking as fresh as at the time of restoration. Specifically, this 5-window has:

Virtually flawless teal paint accented by lighter teal painted inserts (see pictures);
An LT1 Corvette engine that runs like a scalded cat;
A 700R automatic transmission;
A 10-bolt rear;
Air conditioning and heat by Vintage Air; and
A new interior with tasteful custom panels on the doors and headliner.

It has a history of numerous national car show awards including a 1st at both Daytona and the GM Nationals. This truck will take you to the shows in comfort and knock the socks off the judges when you arrive at the show field.

1948 Chevy 5-window Pickup

This Chevy 5-window was treated to an excellent restoration but retains much of its exterior originality enhanced by modern components and creature comforts. The truck is as clean as a pin and drives like a new model.

If it was needed to make this truck appealing and drivable, it was done.

Paint and Chrome

The Teal paint is in excellent condition with lighter teal/blue inserts accented by pinstriping on the hood. The paint gleams and shows off the truck’s original great lines.

The exterior chrome is beautiful and the link to the full sparkling grill that made these trucks outstanding.

The pickup bed has been refinished and the wooden floor gleams. The bed is covered with a hard tonneau that both protects the wood but also gives the truck a finished, sleek look.

The body and underside of the truck appear free of rust and the engine compartment is nicely detailed.

Interior

The bench seat was replaced with comfortable leather-trimmed bucket seats. The custom upholstered door panels are in excellent condition as is the matching headliner.

Engine

The LT1 Corvette engine sits nestled in a detailed engine bay. It provides more than adequate power to make this 5-window fun to drive.

Transmission and Rear End

The transmission is a rebuilt 700R coupled to a 10-bolt rear, allowing the power from the LT1 to be properly harnessed resulting in outstanding performance.

Tires, Brakes, Safety and Comfort Systems

This Chevy has been upgraded with disc brakes on all 4 wheels. The tires are 195/75R14s on the front and 255/70R15s on the rear. All four are mounted on Weld Racing wheels.

All of the engine/systems monitoring gauges (temperature, fuel, amp and oil pressure) are modern and work properly. Similarly, the lights, horn, and turn signals (yes, turn signals) all work (the electric wipers and speedometer will need attention). The truck has a Jensen AM/FM/Cassette radio.

The modern Vintage Air system provides both air conditioning and heat, making this a truck that is as comfortable to operate in the heat of the summer as well as in colder months. Power windows and a tilt steering wheel add to the enjoyment of this pickup.
