Numbers Matching 1969 Chevrolet Caprice Sport Sedan Four Door Hardtop

$15,000 firm.

Foreign buyers welcome. Vehicle inspection and shipping at buyers expense.

Make an appointment to come see this ORIGINAL survivor and take it for a test drive. You'll be glad you did!

1969 Chevrolet Caprice Sport Sedan four door hard top in Pearl White with slight green tint which plays off of the ORIGINAL Medium Green Brocade Cloth interior.

This car is a numbers matching non-air conditioning vehicle with  the original 327 2bbl engine, TH350 transmission, 2.73 rear end, AM radio, manual drum brakes and original Medium Green Brocade Cloth bench seat interior with new carpet and package shelf tray.

Also included are the original window sticker, POP, owners manual in bag, and first owners purchase documentation dated February 18, 1969. A car show poster is also included. All previous owners have been identified and copies of all titles, except the first one, are included. The components on the POP all match the date codes on the parts identified on the plate.

This beautiful 1969 Caprice floats down the highway like a classic big car should and purrs through an aluminized dual exhaust. There are no rust issues, though there is some staining around the front and rear hood seams.

We are the fourth owners of this awesome original survivor. We bought this car in the Atlanta area in August 2014. This car was built at the Doraville, (Atlanta), GM assembly plant during the first week of February 1969. It spent its entire life in the Atlanta area until we purchased it and brought it to North Carolina.

The engine was rebuilt in September 2014 and the transmission was rebuilt in April 2017.

This car has NO bondo or other major body work done in the fenders, but it did have major rust repair work done on the rear window lower and side channels between April and August 2016. The rotted out panel between the lower window channel and the top of the trunk opening was replaced with a new hand fabricated metal panel (there are no reproduction panels available). The lower window corners were also hand fabricated. Rust repair was also performed above the front driver and passenger doors in the roof channels.

As previously stated, this car has its original manual drum brake system. The drums, shoes, master cylinder, wheel cylinders and brake springs and adjusters were all replaced with new parts during the rust repair work in April 2016. The mechanic who did the master cylinder work spilled brake fluid on the unit and now the surface is a little rusty. A wire wheel and some primer and metal finish paint could easily revive the look of the master cylinder.

The front suspension was completely rebuilt with a PST rebuild kit with rubber bushings in April 2016.

All lighting is functional. The trunk light is operational. All dash idiot and interior lights have been converted to LED lights, (except for the speedometer bulbs, which are high end incandescent bulbs). The tail light lenses have been replaced with NOS lenses. The backup lamps are LED's. The front maker lenses and gaskets have also been replaced with NOS parts and high end incandescent bulbs. Headlights are operational as is the hi/low function. Bulbs were replaced with high end halogen bulbs. Glove box light works. The climate control switches is missing its light bulb. I have not replaced it because it is too difficult to reach the socket.

Car still has original AM radio that turn on and lights up when the lights are on. It is not hooked up to any speakers because an Alpine AM/FM/Bluetooth radio was mounted in an under-dash console with an Alpine inline amplifier installed behind the lower dash. A new dual-cone stereo speaker resides in the front dash speaker position and two new Retro Auto Sound 6x9 speakers are in the back package tray. A period, aftermarket, spring-mounted radio antenna made specifically for 69-70 Full Size Chevrolet's sits on the front left fender antenna base.

The front and rear springs and shock absorbers have all been replaced with stock replacement parts in April 2017. In my opinion the front end is lifted too high with the new springs. Cutting a full coil out would bring the car back to a level stance.

The rolling stock consists of newer (2016 installed) 225/70/14 Kumho Touring Plus 732 tires, which have great wet weather handling and are very quiet. The wheels are 1992-dated Chevrolet-produced “YJ” coded 14" Rally wheels, which were originally created for 1969 Camaro Z/28/SS and 1969 Chevy II SS and 1970 Nova SS. These wheels were on the car when we purchased it.
