Vehicle Description
1955 150 HANDYMAN SURFWAGONThere are a few cars that we run across in our lifetimes that actually make a difference in our lives..Like make it happier or more fun or just simply add some color to an otherwise dreary day....... Now there are those cars that make our lives hell..... They don't start or they constantly break down and they always change our lives , make us late , make us grouchy and just generally pissed off..... But this car , oh yes this car generates huge smiles everywhere it goes and every single person that sees it becomes a friend and conversations begin.... It is magical , this car is like everyone's time machine it transports them back to a time that they were having fun, enjoying life and reveling in their own ability to live and enjoy life........
I will share with you my time transport:
The Beach Blanket movies with Annette Funicello and of course Frankie Avalon , Tommy Ivo making cameo appearances the drags the goofy fun the gang got into.. I was 11 and saw Beach Blanket Bingo like six times... There was this surf Guru that lived in a shack on the beach .His name was Moon Doggie ..This car makes me think of those movies , that time and living on the beach..The Beach Boys and hey Let's go to Kokomo.....
This 55 was originally sold at Rudolph Chevrolet in Phoenix , Arizona.
It was a 235 six Cylinder and a three speed on the column it is a 150 handyman it currently has a Muncie 4 speed and the original 235 motor
The car has been painted at some point during its long life and has been reupholstered ,The interior has some sun rot but not bad..Oh Yeah I forgot to mention the ICE cold A/C... AND the front disc brakes and the tubular control arms.... but then again what would you expect from a desert surf wagon...
