The Porsche Museum in Germany coordinates over 200 vehicle deployments a year, sending cars to more than 30 countries. As part of a new exhibit, “Roadbook. The Porsche Museum on the road around the world,” visitors will have the opportunity to see how the museum coordinates vehicle trips, appearances by celebrity drivers and preparing tours, in addition to some of the strategic and logistical challenges the museum encounters.
Held at the Porsche headquarters in Zuffenhausen, the exhibit will be on display through April 23, 2017.
Visitors to the Porsche Museum also can see the 1966 Porsche 911 that was photographed “Around the World” in front of earth’s most famous landmarks in 2013 for the car’s 50th anniversary. The exhibit also features the 911 Carrera RSR, which took part in the Targa Florio on Sicily, the 911 SC Targa, a competitor in the “Top City Classic China Rally,” and the 356 A 1600 Speedster that toured West Coast roads as part of the “California Mille.”

The Petersen Museum holds the Breakfast Club Cruise-In on November 13 starting, at 8 a.m.
And it’s not just cars:Today, the California Automobile Museum in Sacramento holds its annual Art of the Car benefit starring artist and car enthusiast David Garibaldi. The dinner supports the museum’s mission to preserve, exhibit and teach the story of the automobile and its influence on our lives.
November 11, the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum holds “history on the Rocks,” a cocktail-tasting event with a focus on learning about the Auburn Automobile Companies impact on the area and automotive world.
Peter Brock will be honored by the Simeone museum on November 16 during the museum’s “Spirit of Competition” fundraising dinner.
Educational Opportunities:The Blackhawk Museum continues its fall speaker series on Saturday with author and barn-find hunter Tom Cotter, followed by Bobby Rahal, the 1986 Indy 500 winner, on November 12. The speaker series continues with Vic Elford on December 3, followed December 10 by designer Raffi Minasian, who will discuss “The Autonomous Vehicular Future.”
America on Wheels Museum in Allentown, Pennsylvania, invites educators to the museum’s Teacher Preview Day on Sunday. Set to run 1 to 3 p.m., the event will showcase the museum’s newest educational programs and summer camps.
The Owls Head Transportation Museum will offer free admission to all veterans on Veterans Day , November 11.
The autumn series of lectures at the National Motor Museum in England resumes November 19 with Sarah Cofts discussing Women in Motorsport. On December 3, the museum’s chief engineer, Doug Hill, discusses “Under the Bonnet Again.”
From 10 a.m. to noon on November 26 and December 17, the AACA Museum holds a two-hour Build-A-T Workshop for children 8-12 years old. Advance registration is required.
The Simeone Museum holds a demo day featuring “British Design Leaders” on November 12. Cars to be demonstrated include a 1934 MG K3 Magnette, a 1936 Aston Martin Le Mans and a 1933 Squire Speedster.
The next Demo Day at the museum is set for November 26 and features “People’s Choice” winners. Voting takes place online and is open until November 16. Winners will be announced on the 18th.
