Being offered for sale is a “head turning” 1961 Ermine White, with Red interior and Black soft top 283/230hp 4-Speed Corvette built May 11, 1961. A restored classic, with an original drivetrain, this Corvette is “turn key” and ready to be proudly driven and thoroughly enjoyed. Driving pleasure is enhanced with a replacement 4-Speed transmission. The original standard 3-Speed transmission goes with the car.

The car’s exterior appearance is excellent. The paint, chrome bumpers, stainless steel trim molding, and emblems are in very good condition. The window glass appears original to the car and in good condition, as is the weather stripping. The replacement soft top is in excellent condition and fits like a glove. The car holds the road well riding on Champiro P205/75 R 15 97 all season GT radial tires, which are in excellent condition.

The engine compartment presents stock and in excellent condition. The engine block casting number is 3756519 dated D 18 1 (April 18, 1961), with the engine assembly stamping F0502 CQ indicating the engine was assembled on May 2, 1961 in the Flint engine assembly plant as a 283ci engine, to be mated with a Cater 4 barrel carburetor and a manual transmission. With 78,657 miles, the motor runs strong and provides all the performance one would expect from a C1 Corvette.

The interior is in excellent condition, with original style carpeting, new seat covers and door panels. The car has a Wonderbar radio. All the gages are operational, with clear glass.

The car’s underbody is in excellent condition, with a rust free solid frame, original suspension components and the original casting # 3725899 open differential. The White fiberglass underbody shows very well.

This 1961 Corvette offers excellent performance. The acceleration is responsive, the 4-Speed transmission shifts smoothly, the car holds the road well and brakes properly. Getting behind the wheel and taking the car through the gears on the open road or on twisting country roads is what sports car driving is all about.
