Ready to start planning your European vacation for the summer of 2017? If so, Mercedes-Benz has a suggestion: The Carl Benz Tour.
What’s the Carl Benz Tour? It’s a special three-day drive through the German state of Baden-Württemberg designed to take you to places both scenic and linked to milestones in the history of Mercedes-Benz.
Oh, and you get to do the drive in either a 1963-71 Mercedes 190 SL or 1970s-vintage 280 SL.
The first stop is at the Mercedes-Benz Classic Service and Parts shop in Fellbach, at the edge of Stuttgart ,to pick up your car. Then the drive takes you through the Neckar valley wine region, past vineyards and villages to the Maulbronn Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and on to Heidelberg Castle.
Part of the route follows that taken by Bertha Benz when she did the first journey by motorcar.
The tour visits the historic Carl Benz factory and the Mercedes-Benz museum and includes two nights at the Heitlinger Hof Hotel and Winery.
There are four tour dates, all in July 2017.
