Vehicle Description
This Riviera has matching Vin. #'s on engine block and car with LW136( LW for 425 single 4 bbl. carb.; 136 means engine was manufactured May 15,1964) this is proof positive that this car was one of only 2,311 produced with this engine in for 1965 model year! ( the 401 was 28,467 LT and 425 DUAL 4bbl. was 3,808 LX). It has 360 h.p. with 465 foot lbs. of torque! I purchased this car from the second owner, it was running and trans. shift great with cold air; the interior is excellent shape with a non-smoker all this time. I have had the engine totally re-built with push rods, rocker arms, guides everything. I will say this word once, NEW----a/c compressor( blows cold), radiator, hoses, belts, steering sector, front end bushings & parts, carter carb. re-built, generator, tires, dual exhaust muffler system, and most of all, the hide-a-way headlight motor and all the relays so the clam shell headlights work! Driveshaft completely re-worked and balanced; transmission I did not touch because fluid was clean and it shifts so smooth you can not tell when it shifts, but I put vacuum modulator on anyway. The trunk has been re-done and has original jack with spare. All rubber seals around doors & windows & trunk deck have been replaced. All the power windows work, cig. lighter, radio, interior lights, and trunk opener and gas gauge, oil light and temp light; speed-o-meter with speed buzzer and trip-o-meter; tilt steering works fine. Clock and power seat I have not tried to make work. I just got it repainted the original factory color which is (NN) Burgandy Mist Metallic. I have other issues that complicate me keeping this auto. Would like to see it go to good home. I also owned a 1965 Riviera Shara Mist Metallic in 1972, I gave $800 for it used and drove for 2 years! I would not hesitate to drive the car from north Louisiana to Dallas or Little Rock or New Orleans. After break-in on engine, I use Castrol 10w30. Have original owners manual, etc.Contact Allen @ 318-372-6225 CST. only serious buyers please! selling because I want a pick up to restore.
