Vehicle Description
The Atlanta Showroom is proud to offer this 1964 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. We don't have enough space on this description to fill all the restored detail of this 4 speed Karmann. Let's start off with the full restoration all of all new metal parts replaced which included left and right front lower fenders along with the rocker panels and lower quarter panels, and battery tray. The rear floor pans halves were replaced and raised 3 inches and the rear wheels stretched 1 inches per side to fit the 17" wheels. The body work was primed and blocked twice before the paint with a high quality primer. The body was then covered with a Dupont chroma premier basecoat clear coat paint in chestnut brown over Indian red. The suspension and brakes were next on this restoration project. The front custom beam was narrowed and the shock towers are under the gas tank. The Airkewld 2 front drop spindles are complimented with new kingpins and linkpins with new shocks front and rear with adjustable rear left springs. New tie rods and ends, Airkewld front and rear bad brake disc kit with cross drilled rotors and front 4 piston calipers stop this Ghia very well. The 17" billet polished and painted Porsche Fuch Wheel with a 7" wide with an offset deep dish rear wheels. All new metal brake lines and grommets, stainless steel braded soft brake lines and a new e-brake cables finishes the brake system. The 1500 single port engine has been completely rebuilt and painted. The engine exhales via a new stock exhaust system and looks amazing. This 64 has new heater cables, new engine bay seals, new firewall insulation, new starter and bushings, and a new clutch, throw out bearing and cable to clamp the power. All of the body chrome trim has been replaced or re-chromed along with the rubber seals and gaskets. New front and bumpers and new windshield with window rubber. Lenny Coop custom made the interior with square weave carpet, mohair headliner and two tone door panels with cloth seats. A new dash pad was placed and your eyes will read the restored speedo working properly because of the new cabling. The wood steering wheel is the great touch to give you the feel of the road. The last piece of this incredible build is the electrical system. All new WireWorks complete wiring harness was installed, new 12 volt bulbs and original dash switches, new 12 volt wiper motor and horn. This car is really done with a level of craftsmanship that is hard to duplicate. If you have ever wanted a Karmann Ghia, this is the example you have been waiting for your entire life.
