Vehicle Description
Stk. 2258 1966 Chevrolet Corvette 427Chevrolet introduced the original Stringray in 1963, the year of the 'Split-Window'. Over the next five years, Chevy produced Corvette models that were destined to become classics. The 427 roadster is the most iconic of all. The owner of this beautiful 1966 Corvette, restored to better than original condition in 2011, states that the factory 427 is still housed under the hood. The exceptional body has virtually perfect gaps and a beautiful two-stage Rally Red re-spray. A new white soft-top and restored black vinyl interior exhibit utmost attention to detail. (There is also a matching red hardtop and additional black soft-top included with the car.) Under the hood, the roadster is powered by Chevy's 427/390bhp big block. It received a professional rebuild in 2011 and sounds great through side-mount exhaust. With a single Rochester four-barrel and hydraulic lifters, this is far-and-away the most street-manageable version of the big 'Rat' motor. It is backed by a 4-speed manual transmission and street gearing. The Stingray's factory suspension has been completely refurbished and 15" steel wheels hold radial tires with stock 'spinner' wheel covers. It has power steering and 4-wheel power 11.75" disc brakes. Finally, a complete new wiring harness was also installed. If you have been thinking about investing in a classic C2 Corvette, come take a look at this fully restored 427 roadster - you will not be disappointed.
