On the Jaguar E-type's introduction, Enzo Ferrari was famously quoted as calling it "the most beautiful car ever made". The purest iteration of the E-type were the series 1 cars and we're pleased to offer this 1964 Series One convertible. Please not that she is a Heritage Certificate matching numbers car that was originally the highly desirable Opalescent Blue on Blue leather color combination. Also, she has all the coveted series-1 features including covered headlights, clam shell seats, toggle switches and high tail lights. No excuses when driving this car. She's what everyone wants! This is a project car in need of work and is priced accordingly. It has had new floors and sills and is now quite solid with no apparent body rust issues. It has an older paint job and while it looks pretty nice in the photos, it does have numerous paint blemishes. The original bonnet was the type with welded in vent louvers and was not correct for the car so we've purchased a brand new original bonnet. The car is not currently running. The engine will crank over and we've confirmed good compression in all six cylinders and solid oil pressure. The carburetors have been rebuilt. To be driveable, it will need at minimum to have the hydraulics repaired and an exhaust system installed. The seats and center console are with car but not currently installed. Considering it is a solid basis for either a full restoration or can be made driveable with far short of a full restoration, we believe it very reasonably priced relative to today's market for series one roadsters. Our shop also offers the option of fully restoring this car. We are well versed in Jaguar E-types. We have a state of the art paint booth system and our shop has been designated a member of the Hagerty Insurance Expert Repair Network.
