1964 Jaguar 3.8S in Canton, Georgia

I acquired this elegant 1964 saloon car in 1990 and have planned to restore it ever since. But reality has set in, and I realize that I am not likely to get around to the job. It is a complete car. The 3.8S was a transitional model between the Mark II Jaguars & the XK Jaguars making it somewhat rare. The former owner stated that the car was running and the transmission was working well when he stored the car in the late 80's. (The drive shaft was removed for towing.) It is a solid car despite some rust on the floor panels and rocker panels. The front A-frame has some rust as well. But otherwise it is a solid car with great potential for restoration. Sorry for the quality of the pictures. It's been in dry storage since the early 90's and is difficult to get to. The car is located in Canton, GA, just north of Atlanta, about a 3-hour drive from the seller, who lives in Knoxville, TN, so showings are by appointment only. Chassis number is P1B 77249 BW. Engine number is 7B55654-9. Original date of manufacture is Jan. 20, 1965. These are the original matching numbers. The engine is a 3.8 liter double overhead cam 6 cylinder engine with 2 valves per cylinder. It produces 265 bhp at 5500 rpm with a maximum torque of 260 lb-ft @ 4000 RPM.
