To more directly compete with the open-air Jeep CJ (availablewithout doors and a top) in the late 1970s International Harvester introduceda roadster version of the Scout II -- the Super Scout II (or SS2). Afactory-built SS2 is rare -- out of more than 120000 Scout IIs produced from1977 to 1979 only around 4000 were SS2s. The SS2-specific VIN confirms thisto be the genuine article.This example is very straight and solid with matte-finishorange paint and the correct original-style SS2 graphics package. Brand newsoft top and soft door skins. New BF Goodrich 33x12.50 all terrains on 15-inch MickeyThompson wheels. Nice interior with new seat upholstery; roll bar rallyesteering wheel dash pad and center console in excellent original condition.All gauges lights and indicators are working and a modern RetroSound stereo isfitted in the original dash opening.Under the hood is a 345 cubic inch V8 mated to an automatictransmission; the truck was also optioned with power steering and power diskbrakes. Runs and drives well.
