1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle in Oroville, California

Vehicle Description

I bought this car about 19 years ago. I drove it only a few months...and then parked it in my barn erery since. It may need a tune-up....but I think that is all. Even though there is 160,000 miles on the car....there is very little wear on the pedals (indicating “soft” miles). Since it has been stored in my sheet metal barn (with a concrete floor) for over 18 years....it has been well protected. There is hardly any rust. side panels, headliner, and dash are in good shape. headliner has small (4 inch) cut...very fixable. Dash has a crack....again very fixable. Front seats have sheep-skin fitted covers in great shape. But the padding on the springs...front and back seats...would need to be restored. Original seet covers look okay (no big rips...all in one piece) Car sounds and feels very "tight" when you open and close doors. There is no radio (theft). There is a dent on the driver's side front fender about the size of a grapefruit (very fixable...bondo etc.) Rear tires are fairly new. I just pourchased used tires with at least 2/3 of the tread….and put those 2 tires on the rear about a month ago. Front tires even though they hold the air pressure and have a descent amount of tread....they should be replaced....primarily because of age. This would be a beautiful car when restored. Then it would be worth in the range of 15-40k. Below are other “classiccars” ad links you can look at for comparison. These are “restored” 1973-74 VW Superbeetles. This car is “ideal” for a “VW” lover….who would like to restore this car. By rebuilding the engive…including putting 2-4k (or less) into it…this VW would be well worth at least the average of the comparative listings below.
