Vehicle Description
For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS. This is not your run of the mill Camaro SS though, in fact it is far from it. This is a Berger Camaro. Berger Camaro has been tuning Camaro's since the early days right along the side of Don Yenko selling COPO Camaros and including the radical ZL-1. The year is 2000 and Berger is at it again, this time he limited production of his very special cars to 104 units over a three year period ending in 2002, the last year for the Camaro. We have for sale an original owner 2002 Berger Camaro SS #69. The car has currently 14,840 miles. It is 1 of 43 produced in 2002 and is painted in a beautiful Navy Blue Metallic with painted White stripes and Ebony leather interior. Very few cars had painted stripes. Of the 4 known to have them, this car might be the only 2002. Originally purchased as a Phase 1 car from Berger with the following, 380hp/400tq package, cat back chambered exhaust, all new High Flow Air box Lid, progressive rate Eibach lowering springs, 17x9.5 five spoke Fikse FM5 wheels with special SS logo center caps, dimple front and rear brake rotors with red powder coated calipers, dual hood and deck lid stripes, black rear tail light panel, chrome "by Berger" rear panel emblem, Prescribed Power by Berger air box lid decal, numbered console plaque and key fobs, fitted car cover with Berger SS logo, horsepower and torque dash plaque, "Berger Prescribed Power" emblems, all new grill with SS emblem, white faced gauges with "by Berger" logo, Power antenna, car number on windshield and review mirror. The owner sent the car back to GMMG Inc, (modifying cars for Berger Chevrolet), and had it upgraded to a Phase 2X6 package, (of 2 cars known, this is the only 2002), that upped the horsepower from 380 to 500! This included LS6 heads, headers, 4.10:1 gears, camshaft and tune. While there, it also had a few other special modifications installed. Electric exhaust cutout, Hurst line lock and a small shift light in driver's window pillar. The car has been autographed, under hood, by many of the major contributors that made this project happen. They include Matt and Dale Berger, owners Berger Chevrolet, Scott Settlemire, GM Assistant Camaro Brand Manager, also known as "FbodFather", Matt Murphy, owner GMMC Inc. and Dennis Baker, previous Sales Manager and Camaro development at Berger Chevrolet. This contribution makes this Camaro truly one of a kind and very collectible. All original documents, as well as Phase 1 take off parts (cylinder heads and exhaust manifolds), original battery, air and oil filters. Here's a rare opportunity to own a very rare and powerful Camaro SS. It's in near new condition and ready for some serious fun. Open up the exhaust cutout and let all 500 ponies let loose.
