Classic car "woodies" hit the beach in Oceanside California after a cruise up the 101 PCH coastal highway from Encinitas from the 2013 Wavecrest Woodie Car Show / Meet sponsored by The San Diego Woodie Club. The "woody" car was created during World War 2 when metal was used for the war effort. Car makers made the panels out of wood during those years thus creating a style of cars called "Woodies".
